MoU Covers Payments, Fintech and Financial Regulation
The Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE) and the Central Bank of Syria have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen financial and technical cooperation.
The agreement creates a framework for exchanging expertise and information across areas including payment systems, monetary policy, cash management and financial technology.
The MoU also covers financial inclusion, sustainable finance, climate-risk management, credit information systems and risk-management frameworks.
Why it matters: The agreement could support greater institutional cooperation and knowledge exchange between the two financial systems, particularly in payments, fintech and regulatory practices.
