New WREx Forum Targets Water Regulation and Investment

The Saudi Water Authority (SWA) will launch the inaugural Water Regulation Exchange (WREx) in Riyadh on 1 November 2026.

The forum will bring together regulators, policymakers, water-sector experts and industry leaders from around the world. The event is expected to include 28 speakers from 24 countries, alongside representatives from international organisations and government entities.

Key topics will include water-sector regulation, desalination, water reuse, sustainability, private-sector partnerships, financing, digital transformation and investment models.

Why it matters: Water security is a major strategic issue for GCC countries, and Riyadh’s new forum could create additional opportunities for water technology, infrastructure and private investment.
