One visa could allow visitors to travel across all six Gulf countries
The long-awaited Unified GCC Tourist Visa is moving closer to implementation, with GCC Secretary-General Jasem Albudaiwi saying the scheme will launch soon.
The proposed Schengen-style system would allow eligible international visitors to travel across UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain using a single regional tourist permit.
The initiative could significantly strengthen GCC tourism by encouraging visitors to combine multiple Gulf destinations into one trip. It is also expected to support hospitality, aviation, retail, events and cross-border tourism businesses.
For Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, Doha and other major tourism hubs, the unified visa could create a much larger regional tourism market.
