Middle East Set to Become World’s Fastest-Growing Data Centre Market

AI boom drives massive demand for data infrastructure

The Middle East is expected to experience the fastest growth in data-centre capital expenditure globally through 2050, according to a new PwC report.

The region’s rapid development of artificial intelligence, cloud computing and digital services is creating enormous demand for new computing infrastructure.

Saudi Arabia and the UAE are emerging as major hubs because of their large-scale AI strategies, abundant energy resources, investment capacity and growing digital economies.

The data-centre expansion could generate opportunities across construction, power generation, cooling systems, cybersecurity, cloud services, telecommunications and renewable energy.

For GCC economies, data centres are increasingly becoming strategic infrastructure rather than simply technology facilities, particularly as governments invest billions into AI and sovereign computing capabilities.
