Saudi Arabia Bets Big on AI and Advanced Technology
Saudi Arabia has opened the latest edition of LEAP in Riyadh with more than $15 billion in technology investments and strategic commitments, highlighting the Kingdom’s rapidly expanding technology and AI ambitions.
The announcements span artificial intelligence, cloud computing, cybersecurity and autonomous technologies. Saudi officials said the country’s digital economy has expanded significantly since LEAP began, while the technology sector continues to attract international companies and investors.
A major announcement came from HUMAIN, which unveiled HUMAIN M3, an open-weights Arabic language model trained on more than one trillion Arabic tokens. The company also introduced HUMAIN Voice, designed to work across several Arabic dialects.
The developments reinforce Saudi Arabia’s strategy of building domestic AI capabilities rather than relying exclusively on overseas technology.
