New flexibility supports construction and home-development projects
The Abu Dhabi Housing Authority has extended the activation period for construction, demolition, reconstruction and home-maintenance loans by two years.
The move is designed to give Emirati beneficiaries additional time to plan and complete housing projects while dealing with changing construction costs, contractor availability and project requirements.
The authority said the extended period should help beneficiaries make more informed decisions about contractors and consultants while giving them greater flexibility over project implementation.
The policy also reflects changing conditions in the construction market. Longer activation periods can help reduce pressure on households that need more time to arrange financing, planning and construction work.
From a business perspective, the initiative could also support activity across Abu Dhabi’s construction ecosystem, including contractors, consultants, engineering firms, building-material suppliers and home-maintenance businesses.
The announcement forms part of wider efforts to strengthen housing support and family stability in Abu Dhabi.
The authority said its housing programmes are periodically reviewed to account for changing market conditions and beneficiary requirements.
