Abu Dhabi has launched a new stablecoin named ‘Image,’ which is pegged to the UAE dirham. This initiative aims to modernize financial transactions, including rent payments and remittances, by leveraging blockchain technology. The project is currently awaiting regulatory approval from the UAE Central Bank and involves collaboration among three major Emirati entities.
