Capgemini Says Generative AI Now Drives Over 10% of New Business Bookings

French IT services giant Capgemini reported that generative and agentic AI now account for more than 10% of group bookings, showing how quickly enterprise demand for AI consulting is accelerating.

Reuters reported first-quarter revenue rose 7% at constant exchange rates to 5.9 billion euros, while bookings increased 6.2% year-on-year to 6 billion euros. North America grew strongly, up 20.7%, driven largely by the recently acquired AI unit WNS.

CEO Aiman Ezzat said AI is rapidly reshaping the company’s business mix, supported by deeper partnerships with U.S. tech leaders including Google and a new alliance with OpenAI.

For Middle Eastern economies, the shift is significant because governments and enterprises across the Gulf are increasing demand for enterprise AI deployment, consulting, and digital transformation services.

From a business perspective, service providers—not just model builders—are becoming major winners in the AI economy as implementation demand grows faster than software adoption itself.

Looking ahead, analysts expect consulting-led AI transformation spending to remain one of the fastest-growing enterprise investment areas in 2026.
